Realme 1 VS Realme 2 : Worth to Upgrade?

Realme 2 is finally launched in India and in this blog I am going to compare the Realme 1 and Realme 2 and this comparison is just going to be a full specification based comparison. Since, with the launch of the Realme 2 here is a very big question that, whether you should go with the Realme 1 or should you go with the Realme 2, so in this blog I hope you will get your answer.

In terms of design both the phones are very identical because both the phones comes with diamond cut design at the back and glossy glass finish. Both the phones have mirror finish or glossy finish but it is not actually glass  in any of the phone.  the only difference in the design of both the phones is just that in the real me to you will get the dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor at the back and the branding of Oppo is no more there, since the Realme is now separate brand.

Coming to the displays of both the phones, the Realme 1 comes with a 6.0" FHD + 18:9 panel with no notch. However the Realme 2 has a 6.2" HD+ display panel with a display notch and 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on it for protection.

In terms of performance there is going to be a big difference. The Realme 1 comes with MediaTek helio p60 processor which is a 12 nm based processor and will give you a clock speed of 2.0 GHz with separately artificial intelligence support where as the Realme 2 comes with very average person in this price segment i.e. Snapdragon 450 which is a processor build on 14nm technology and gives you a 1.8 gigahertz of clock speed.

Both the processors are Octacore processors in which the snapdragon 450's all the 8 cores are based on ARM Cortex A53 arcitrcture whereas in Helio p60 processor 4 cores are based on Cortex A53 and 4 are based on Cortex A73. So, in terms of performance Realme 1 is a clear winner.

Talking about the RAM and ROM variants, Realme 1 comes with three variants :
  1. 3GB/32GB priced at INR 8,990.
  2. 4GB/64GB priced at INR 10,990.
  3. and 6GB/128GB prices at INR 13,990.

Whereas Realme 2 comes with two RAM and ROM variants :
  1. 3GB/32GB priced at INR 8,990.
  2. and 4GB/64GB priced at INR 10,990.

In these variants the 3GB RAM variant of Realme 1 is now unavailable. If you want to buy a 3GB RAM variant then you will have to go with the  Realme 2's 3GB RAM.

There is no major upgrade in terms of camera. In both the phones there is a 13MP rear camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front there is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture in both the phones. The only upgrade in the camera is, a 2MP depth sensing camera at the back of the Realme 2.

Realme 1 and 2 both runs on Android Oreo but here is a difference in the custom UI. The Realme 1 has the layering of  ColorOS 5.0 whereas the Realme 2 has the ColorOS 5.1.

If we talk about the battery then the Realme 2 is a clear winner as Realme 2 comes with a huge 4,230 mAh battery which s going to give you a greate battery backuo in comparison to the Realme 1's 3,410 mAh battery.
