Snapdragon 765G VS MediaTek Dimensity 800 - AnTuTu-Geekbench Scores

Dimensity 800 VS Snapdragon 765G: Companies are already familiar with the scope of 5G connectivity. And the mobile SoC manufacturing companies are making their processors 5G capable. The first generation of every tech is always expensive, but as time passes and new innovations get added to that technology, the price gets more and more affordable. For instance, 5G connectivity was just limited to flagship mobile SoCs until last year. But now, it is also accessible through premium mid-range processors like the Snapdragon 765G from Qualcomm and Dimensity 800 from MediaTek.

In order to clear some confusion, we are going to compare these processors side by side and will find out which one is better.

Manufacturing Process & CPU Performance

Both the processors come with the 7nm fabrication but the fabrication of Snapdragon 765G is of EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) technology which is the second generation of the 7nm process. The second generation is 10% less power consuming.

Coming to the cores, the Dimensity 800 has 4x Cortex-A76 cores at 2.0GHz and 4x
Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Whereas the Snapdragon 765G has 1x Cortex-A76 Prime Core at 2.4GHz, 1x Cortex-A76 Gold Core at 2.2GHz, and 6x Cortex-A55 Silver Cores at 1.8 GHz
Here, the Snapdragon 765G is better as it has higher clock speed and three-cluster design.

GPU & Gaming

The Dimensity 800 uses Mali-G52 MP4 GPU which is quad-core GPU whereas the Snapdragon 765G has Adreno 620 GPU. The GPU in MediaTek Dimensity 800 works over the 1st generation of Valhall architecture of ARM. It has support for Mediatek HyperEngine Gaming which is a game-enhancing software solution from the company.

The Snapdragon 765G's GPU has a maximum clock speed of 750MHz which is pretty impressive and also has support for Qualcomm Elite gaming software enhancements while gaming. Both the GPUs are very powerful and can provide great gaming experience in premium mid-range smartphones but the GPU in Snapdragon 765G is a little bit better.

Artificial Intelligence

The MediaTek Dimensity 800 has the APU3.0 design which MediaTek's in-house AI Processing Unit. MediaTek said that with this APU, the Dimensity 800 can achieve data processing AI speed of up to 2.4TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second).

On the other hand, Snapdragon 765 has Qualcomm's Hexagon 696 DSP which comes under the 5th Gen. AI Engine from the company. This provides Snapdragon 765G to have an AI processing score of 5.5 TOPS which more than double in comparison to what Dimensity 800 is offering.

So, definitely, the Snapdragon 765G has better AI performance.

AnTuTu-Geekbench Scores

The MediaTek Dimensity 800 is so new that there are no AnTuTu and Geekbench benchmarks available yet but we will update you as soon the scores hit the internet.

AnTuTu Scores

The Snapdragon 765G has scored 3,20,847 points in AnTuTu v8 benchmarking.

Both the processors are 5G capable and come with an integrated 5G modem. However, MediaTek has not disclosed the exact download and upload speeds. Neither for 5G not for 4G connectivity. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 765G has an X52 5G modem. This modem can provide 3.7Gbps D/L and 1.6Gbps U/L speed in 5G and in 4G these speeds are 1.2Gbps and 210Mbps respectively.

Conclusion - Which One Is Better?

No doubt the Snapdragon 765G has better overall hardware which makes this processor a complete winner in this comparison. But it is also worth noting that it will also be a bit expensive than Dimensity 800. On that note, the Dimensity 800 also has a good price-to-performance ratio.
